Tool # 10

I would have my students very aware of plagiarism and the consequences.  I would also have them understand that they are tools for learning and not social tools.  In other words, they should not give out personal information online to anyone.  Lastly, I would advise them to use as a source for learning.  I use brainpop as a review and learning tool.  I could do the same with digital citizenship.  I would have open discussions about digital citizenship and use tools such as brainpop and examples of others when you are not a good digital citizen.  I would have them sign permission slips and students contracts for the kids.

Tool # 9

Tying technology into the objective is extremely important because students in this era are visual learners and technology is incredibly important to them. We should hold them responsible for their own stations because it teaches them to care for their materials. They become responsible and learn to be good leaders. They also learn to work with others more appropriately. I teach across all grade levels. I use small games or apps that allows the students to practice and learn on their own. Such apps like Piano lessons and site reading are great for stations. They are easy to use and can be used by having a stop watch or clock to switch from station to station so every student has the chance to use them for the same amount of time. They are able to record and listen to their own music and performances. For example, my choir class has their performance music recorded to their IPOD.. They are able to listen on their own and rehearse.

Tool # 8

I learned how to set up my ITUNES account on a Macbook. I also learned how to install and update software from the tutorial although I have others that help me.  When I do get the Macbooks I will play with them and be more sure on how I use them but for the time being.  I plan on using these macbooks often and having them available as much as I can.  They will be stored in a safe place and be labeled.

Tool # 7

I plan on demonstrating how to play B and A on the recorder.
I plan to implement this with possibly Buffalo Creek.
I plan to use do this via skype with students in the 5th grade.

Tool #6

I use my skype account with my students.  I would like to use skype in the future by setting up a meeting via skype with a musician that the kids can interact with.  The students learn about instruments but rarely are able to see them so it would be nice to get different types of musicians on skype.

dadawill is my skype login name.

Tool #5

Christmas 2011

HENNA!

My students can learn a lot by seeing themselves and correcting their own mistakes.  We can review the video and work on concepts during practice.

Tool # 4

I enjoyed making the test in google apps and think some of the kids will find it very enjoyable.
